Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana serves over 2,000 troops and groups in 64 counties in western Kentucky and southern Indiana. Each of the 25,000 Kentuckiana girl members participate in a program level:

* Girl Scout Daisies, grades K-1

* Girl Scout Brownies, grades 2-3

* Girl Scout Juniors, grades 4-5

* Girl Scout Cadettes, grades 6-8

* Girl Scout Seniors, grades 9-10

* Girl Scout Ambassadors, grades 11-12

* Multi-aged groups/individual girl members

Supporting these girls are 7,000 adult members (women and men). Adults are involved as volunteer leaders, consultants, board members and as staff specialists who serve in such areas as program development, adult education, outdoor education, volunteer management and administration.

hroughout the year, a variety of day, weekend and summer resident camp experiences afford girls the opportunity to learn about nature and wildlife, to contribute as a member of a group, and to become more self-reliant. Full- and part-time property staff maintain seven Girl Scout camp program properties:

* Camp Pennyroyal (180 acres) ........Owensboro, KY

* Camp Shantituck (112 acres) ...Shepherdsville, KY

* Camp Whippoorwill (107 acres) ........Madison, IN

* Houchens (12 acres) ............Bowling Green, KY

* Stem Adventure Center (1,400 acres)...Laconia, IN
